1.0 BACKGROUND
Covenant Junior School is a Christian founded nursery and primary school, established in 2008 in Kyamagemule; Mityana District. The school is registered and licensed by local council and has only one structure that currently houses the nursery school as per the Ministry Educations and Sports regulations.
The school is situated in the community of an estimated population of 7,000 people with high birthrates and low levels of literacy. This is coupled with the high rates of HIV-Aids infections and effects with the girl child as the most vulnerable.
2.0 VISION
To empower the community through education and vocational training through the application of biblical principles.
3.0 GENERAL OBJECTIVE
Establish schools and vocational training centers within the disadvantaged rural communities that are linked with churches and outreach ministries with the local ministries with similar objectives.
4.0 REQUIREMENTS
The school is seeking registration and license from the ministry of education and is required to have a fully facilitated primary block that contains the following:
4.1 Seven Classrooms
These will the classes from primary level one to primary level seven with maximum capacity of fifty children per class/room. This will give a 50 to 1 children teacher ratio.
4.2 Administration Centre/Room
This will house the head teacher’s office, deputy and staff room to ease operation and management of the primary school.
4.3 Library
The biggest challenge in most rural institutions reading time, space and text books for the children. Therefore there is need for a good library and texts for both children and teachers references.
4.4 Science laboratory
The laboratory is required for the science subjects that require experiments and research. The purpose is to build capacity of the children interested or that are good in sciences subjects.
4.5 Hall
The hall is to be used as an examination room, hall for entertainment and community sensitizing programs.
