1ACTI provides a gift bag for children in Uganda. Not only are bags reusable, they provide a uniform size for packing and transporting via air to Uganda. Bags and ID tags are free. Just Email us when you need one or more. We only ask that what you send fit in ONE of these bags per child, per trip.

If a checked bag weight limit is exceeded, the airlines charge $200 for such bags. It makes no sense to spend $200 to take $25 worth of gifts. Email us and we will get you the bag(s) needed and also arrange pickup.

If you would like to make a donation to help with transport of gift bags, that would be much appreciated. Donation links below.

Actual distribution in Uganda.

2 If you live outside the Panama City area, we will send you a bag and label and you can return it Postal Mail, UPS, etc.

Street address:

Bob Hayes
1401 Calhoun Avenue
Panama City FL 32401-1543

3 Still another option is to simply send a check to our Post Office Box, or funds via PayPal (search for Bhayes409@aol.com and select "Friends") or via credit/debit card on Network for Good, with instruction for my wife to fill a bag for you. She starts working on Operation Christmas Child boxes several months in advance so this type thing is always on her mind. We will send you a photo of the items she packs.

4 Still another option is for those who are not regular sponsors but would like to send gifts to deserving children. Let us know of your interest and we will get you the bag(s) and information.

5 Still even one more option is for you to accompany me on a trip to Uganda, see your child in person and hand deliver the gifts. I am serious about this option, shoot me an email me to learn more details. I generally go at least three times per year.

6 Family Food Basket Here is a way to bless the entire family of a sponsored child. Perhaps once per year, send and extra $25 marked "Family Food Basket." With these funds we provide the family with: a chicken, 1 kilogram of rice, 1 kilogram of maize flour, ½ kilogram of potatoes, 1 liter of cooking oil, 2 kilogram of sugar, 1 loaf of bread, 1 tub of Blue Band (margarine), a plastic pan in which these items are delivered and is used for months to come. This can be anytime during the year, or in December in conjunction with our annual family Christmas basket project.

7 A word about clothing items as ministry gifts. Adults and teenagers in Uganda have learned to provide for themselves, so I do not encourage clothing gifts for them. The greatest need is for toddlers up to about age 12. These kids can use most anything you have to give. On my fourth trip (1997) there was a little boy who was around us everyday and he always wore the same dirty, worn out shirt and shorts. Finally, it occurred to me, that was the only outfit he had. This continues to be a common experience. Please keep this in mind when collecting clothing.

I also encourage folks who take clothes for ministry gifts to distribute the clothes themselves while in Uganda. I have visited some locations that had a room with duffel bags and suitcases stacked half way to the ceiling. I asked why, and was told in some cases, the powers that be wanted the prestige of being the "big man" who had control over the gifts and the recipients, or worse yet, they would sell the clothes. I am also sure some were just so busy, distribution was not a priority, so the clothes just sat there, helping no one. So when a team distributes the clothes they brought themselves, all these problems go away.
